Playa de Amadores
is one of the newest and fastest growing resorts in Gran Canaria.
The resort is situated in the bay next to
Puerto Rico. The distance between the two resorts is 5-10
minutes in a taxi or
20-25 minutes along a fabulous cliff top walk.
Most of the
hotels in
Playa de Amadores are beautifully located on the hillsides with
fantastic views over the beach and the Atlantic Ocean.
The beach
Playa de Amadores
has a magnificent 500 metres long blue flag beach. The beach is
man made with white sand from the Caribbean and fairly shallow
turquoise water.
The massive
breakwaters provide powerful protection from the Atlantic swell
and waves, which makes this a good beach for swimmers and
children.
Restaurants and nightlife
There is a wide selection of restaurants, cafés and bars
behind the beach and in the two shopping centers in Playa de
Amadores.
Playa de Amadores is very quiet
during the evenings and night but the much livelier Puerto Rico
is not far away.
Activities
It is possible to hire pedal boats at the beach, while all other
water sports takes place in nearby Puerto Rico.
Playa de Amadores has two shopping
centers, 'Amadores shopping centre' and 'Playa Amadores centre'.
